Wolfsburg beat Hertha BSC 1-0 in the Bundesliga on Sunday, thanks to a stunning assist from Valence winger Luis Muriel.
The match saw Wolfsburg take control early on and create several chances, but it was Hertha who finally broke the deadlock in the 44th minute when a cross from the left found their striker, Mario Mandzukic, who headed past Wolfsburg goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.
But the visitors refused to give up and pressed hard for an equalizer. And just as they thought they had lost hope, Muriel came through with a brilliant run and crossed the ball into the six-yard box, where substitute Stefan Savićć headed home the equaliser five minutes before half-time.
The goal sent Wolfsburg into the break level with Hertha, and the visitors continued to press throughout the second half. However, Wolfsburg held firm and kept their lead until the final whistle, securing all three points and moving up to fourth place in the table.
Muriel's assist was a real highlight of the game, and he played a key role in helping Wolfsburg secure the win. The Argentine winger has been in excellent form this season, scoring four goals and creating two assists in his last seven games for the club.
With the victory, Wolfsburg now have a chance to climb even higher up the table, and the team will be looking to continue their good form against Eintracht Frankfurt next weekend.
